二千坪の庭園が広がる「松の間」は、お庭の素晴らしさを活かして

And the Matsu-no-Ma where you could see the garden of DOI was cordinated to make it look refinement and calm atomosphere by putting the wonderfulness of the garden to account

本日、7月23日は暦で言えば「大暑」の日
これからは晴れ間が続き、徐々に気温があがっていきますので
皆様くれぐれも熱中症や夏バテにはお気を付け下さいませ
Today, 23rd of July is “大暑(Taisyo)” day in Japan
大暑is the day which tells you that it is going to be hotter and hotter from now on
So, as we are having a fine sunny day from tomorrow, please be careful from the summer heat and the heatstroke

暑い夏と言えば「暑中見舞い」の季節ですね
現在はお手紙や贈り物を送ること自体を指しているそうですが
本来「暑中見舞い」とは暑い日々が続く「暑中」にご友人やご家族様等
大切な方のご自宅を訪問したり、お手紙を出して、健康を気遣うところを
趣旨として使われていました
日本人のまわりを気遣う、温かい気持ち、大切にしていきたいですね
Hot summer is season of “暑中見舞い(Syochu-Mimai)”
It appears to have a meaning “to send a letter or gift in summer” itself nowdays but in old days, it was used as a meaning of caring about health of your family or friends by writing a letter or visiting their house in hot season
※暑中=during the hot summer
※見舞い=to visit someone with care
It is wonderful to have this kind of custom, I would like to venerate the warm feeling of how our ancestors were caring about others around themselves

また、7月23日は文月の23日、ふみが2つも並ぶ手紙の日です
最近はお手紙ではなくお電話やメールでご連絡を取る方が多いと思います
この機会に是非大切な方々に暑中見舞いを書いてみてはいかがでしょうか？

※In old Japanese, you would call July,文月(Fumizuki),which 月(Tsuki) means moon=month, and 文(Fumi) means letter, and also, 23 would be read 2(Fu)3(Mi) in old Japanese, so it sounds alike so it is said to be Letter month Letter day
Lately, everyone is not writing letters, but contacting each others by e-mails and calling on their telephones

After the ceremony at Kamigamo shrine, I have went to support Mr and Mrs Komine’s wedding reception at Kyo-ryori SAKURAI

白無垢・紋付姿の新郎新婦様が多い中、タキシード姿がとっても新鮮でした
The tuxedo was very new style while other brides and grooms dressed in Shiromuku andn Montsukihakama

またお色直しでお召になられたお衣装は、なんと新郎様のお母様の手作りのウェディングドレス。
新婦様のお身体に配慮なされたボレロは、上品なお顔立ちの新婦様にとってもよくお似合いでした。
Also, the gown which bride wore for the exchange was made by groom’s mother
Bolero was been considered for the bride’s form, that it suited her graceful countenance

ドレスに合わせたブーケは新婦様の妹様が手作りされたもの、
カフスとネックレスは新婦様のお母様のプレゼント…
Bouquet which fit the gown was made by bride’s younger sister
and cuff and necklace was a gift from her mother

過日の震災を乗り越えながらのご準備の日々、遠方よりお越し頂いた
ゲストの方々に楽しんでもらおうとアイデアを練った

The reception was perfectly original whose Mr and Mrs Komine’s idea which were elaborated in order to enjoy their guests who came from far cities while they are preparing during the other day’s earthquake disaster

季節の最後＝次の季節が始まる日の前日は
「土用の明け」とよばれています。
The end of the season, which is the day before the next season starts, is called “土用の明け（Doyo-no-Ake)” in Japanese.

異なる季節の間に「土用」を設けることで
過ぎゆく古い季節とこれからの新しい季節を
静かに交代させる働きをするということ。
“DOYO” is said to be made between the different season in order to change the old season to the new season quietly and gently.

いつのまにか夏の季節になりましたね。
Now it is already summer without notice.

また本日は土用の明けから初めての
「丑」の日という事で鰻を食べて力をつける日
ともいわれております。
And also, today is the first “丑（Ushi)” day from the “土用の明け(Doyo-no-Ake)” , and it is said to be the day to eat eel and raise our vigor and make us healthy.
※In Japan, when you eat a food whose name starts from “う(U)” in “うし（Ushi)” day, it would make you strong from summer heat.
“Eel” is called “Unagi” in Japanese, so its name starts from “U”!!

私達も本日「京料理さくらい」さんより頂いた鰻を美味しく頂き

7月10日（日）初夏を感じる晴れわたる日に上賀茂神社にて挙式後、料亭左阿彌さんでのご披露宴のサポートをさせて頂きました。
On 10th of July, Sunday, the clear fine day which you could feel the beginning of summer, I went to support the wedding reception at SAAMI after the ceremony at Kamigamo shrine.

白無垢・お鬘姿の新婦様はスタッフ全員絶賛するほど本当にお綺麗でした
The bride dressed in Shiromuku and traditional wig, every staff has praised of her beauty.

新郎様はご披露宴のご退出後に上映するエンドロールのラスト1ページにご出発前の和装姿のお写真を上映すると、当日まで撮影〜パソコンでの処理を行っておられ、皆様への思いや御もてなしの心を感じました。
The groom was been working on his computer and been photographing even during his wedding day in order to make a credit roll movie, which they are going to show it at the end of the reception, with the picture of them dressed in Japanese traditional wedding outfits before leaving to the ceremony.
I have felt his OMOTENASHI spirits and his deep feeling to the guests.

上賀茂神社での挙式は皆様より「身がひきしまった」「雅楽の演奏が良かった」等とお言葉を頂きました
The participants of the wedding ceremony at Kamigamo shrine have said “it made me inspire” and “the music performance of Gagaku was very nice”

ご披露宴では皆様が楽しまれ、新郎新婦様からのサプライズプレゼント芸妓・舞妓さんのご登場はご出席の皆様より歓声があがりましたね。
Everyone had fun in the reception, and most of all, the surprise present of Maiko-san and Geiko-san from bride and groom made everybody happy.

ご結婚式後に1通のメールを頂きました
「7月10日の結婚式並びに結婚披露宴の際は大変お世話になりました。そしてそれに至る過程においても大変なご苦労をおかけしたと思います。ありがとうございました。
親族や披露宴のお客様方からも非常に良かったとの声をいただきました．
これもひとえに谷口さん並びにサポートしてくださった方々のお陰です．
本当にありがとうございました。」
After the wedding, I received this message…
“Thank you for all of your help at our wedding ceremony and reception on 10th of July. And we think we have put you to trouble for our reception arrangement. Thank you very much.
My family, relatives and other participants of the reception have gave us many glad words.

初めて新郎新婦様にお会い致しましたのは今年の4月でした。
3ヶ月という短い期間にてお仕事をしながらのご結婚式のご準備は少し大変なこともあったかと存じます。
私共の方こそ今までありがとうございました。
11月に元気なお子様のご誕生を楽しみにしております!
The first time I met with this bride and groom was on this April.
3 months were very short time, that I think it was little hard to prepare for the wedding ceremony and having many work to do.

We held a LST Honden Visitation & Consultation event at Kamigamo Shrine.

普段はご覧いただけないご本殿やご婚礼お控え室をご覧頂け、
上賀茂神社の歴史などもご案内させて頂いております「本殿下見相談会」は
毎回皆様に大変ご好評頂いております。
This event always receives a favorable review from brides and grooms that you could see the Honden and anteroom where you could not usually enter or see, and also we introduce the history of Kamigamo shrine.

またスタッフにとりましても改めて上賀茂神社の歴史の深さを学ぶと共に
そのような場所でのご婚礼をお手伝いさせて頂けることの重みを感じる一日でした。
The day would also be an important day for the LST staffs, because we could learn afresh about the deepness of the history of Kamigamo shrine, and that we could help bride and groom’s ceremony in such place.

祇園祭も本日の宵山、そして明日の山鉾巡行で最高潮を迎えますね！
京都ではいつも祇園祭の頃が梅雨明けするかしないかのタイミングで、雨が降る場合も多いのですが、今回は梅雨明けが早かった事もあり、暑すぎるくらいの良いお天気だったと聞いています。
Gion festival culminate in today’s YOIYAMA and tomorrow’s Yama-boko parade!
In Kyoto, Gion festival always starts when the rainy season ends or not, so during the festival, it has many rainy days, but this year, the end of rainy season was very early, so I heard that there were many fine days that it was too hot.

明日の山鉾巡行の見どころは何といっても、四条河原町の交差点で敷き詰められた竹の上で数トンもある鉾の方向を豪快に変える鉾まわし（辻回し）です。幼いころに見た時は人の多さと暑さとで、何が何だか分からなかったのですが、今思い出すと「圧巻!!」ですね。
The highlight of tommorow’s Yama-boko parade would be Hoko-mawashi (or Tsuji-mawashi) which few-ton-Hoko changes their direction on the bamboos which are laid on the street of Shijo-Kawaramachi.
When I saw it in my childhood, I didn’t know what was happening by the crowds and the summer heat, but I remember now that is was “Astonishing!!”

そして、もし皆様にご覧頂けるのならば、ぜひ山鉾巡行の日の朝6〜7時くらいの京都の街をぶらりと散歩をしてほしいです。
鉾は全部で32基。
四条界隈の筋、筋にそれぞれ組み立てられるのですが、静かに堂々と佇んでいる山鉾巡行の日の鉾からは、神聖な強い力がみなぎっていてパワーをもらえますよ!!
お勧めです。
And, if you have chance to see the festival, I recommend you to have a walk in the city of Kyoto in the morning like 6-7 o’clock on the day of Yama-boko parade.
There are 32 hokos in total.
The hokos are each constructed at the streets near Shijo, and the very day of the Yama-boko parade, silently-standing magnificent hokos has a holy power that would give you powers!
It is my recommendation.

祇園祭を迎えると「さぁ、夏本番！」という気分になりますね。
皆さまも熱中症には気を付けて、夏を楽しんで下さいませ。
When Gion festival comes, it feels like “Now, the summer are going to start!!”
Please enjoy the coming summer, but please take care from the heatstroke.

いよいよ夏本番でございますね。
As the HOKO of Gion festival are all set up,
we feel the coming of summer has just begin

季節の移り変わりに合わせて
LSTサロンへお越し下さる皆様への

And so the season has changed to a hot summer,
the glass we used for our clients also shifted to a summer version.

冬の温かみのある陶器のグラスとはまたちがう

７月から始まっている「祇園祭」。
クライマックスの17日の山鉾巡行にむけて、10日に鉾建てが始まりました。
くぎ１本使わずに「縄」だけで建てられる鉾。
「すごい！」の一言ですね。
日本の三大祭りの一つである「祇園祭」は、
歩く美術館と言われるほどで、世界各国から京都へ観光の方が集まります。
Gion Festival”is already started from 1st of July.
The building of HOKO started on July 10th, which would be the main item on 17th, which is the day parade of yamaboko floats.
HOKO is made only with rope, that it doesn’t use any nails.
It is fantastic work isn’t it?
“Gion Festival” is one of the Japan’s three most famous festival, that it is said that it is like a moving museum, and many tourist visit from many countries.
・10日の鉾立て「長刀鉾」（Making “NAGINATA-BOKO” on 10th）

・11日完成！（Complete on 11th!）

同日に鉾だけでなく、「神幸祭(御神輿の巡行)」もあります。
「山鉾巡行」は「静」の祭り、「神幸祭」は「動」の祭りと言われています。
是非両方、楽しんでいただければと思います。
On the 17th, there is not only HOKO floats parade but there are also “Shinko-sai (Parade of mikoshi from Yasaka shrine to the city)
It is said that “Parade of Yamaboko floats” is a “静（CALM)” festival, and “Shinko-sai” is a “動 (ACTION)” festival.
I hope everyone could enjoy both of the parade.
幼い頃は何も感じず迎えていた「祇園祭」ですが、
年齢を重ね、今年は家族全員でお祭りを迎えられた事に感謝せずにいられません。
When I was small, I have been just waiting for the “Gion Festival” to come, but as I grew older and older, I appreciate that this year, I could see the festival with all of my family members.
