LST original Shiromuku (=all white kimono) exclusively designed for Kiyomizu-dera Temple wedding.
The costume is designed with “Otowa-no-taki (water fall)” which is known as the origin of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, “Kiyomizu-no-Butai (Stage)” and “Koyasu-no-toh (Tower)”.
It took about half a year from designing to finish the costume.
We assisted a client couple with organizing and planning a wedding ceremony at Nezu shrine in Bunkyo-ku Ward in Tokyo.
In the morning, they got dressed at their own home.
The bride wore a “katsura (wig)” with “tsuno-kakushi”and dressed in “Hiki-furisode”.
She was so beautiful and we all were enchanted by her!
After arriving the shrine, we did the photography.
They look wonderful.
Nezu shrine was surrounded by rich greenery.
The sunlight coming through the leaves was beautiful and a nice breeze was blowing occasionally.
We really appreciate that we were given this wonderful opportunity to assist their wedding.
We wish the couple and their families a life-long happiness!!
On May 15th, we were invited by Kamigamo shrine to “Chokusai”and a ceremony called “Shatoh no ghi” which was a part of “Kamo-matsuri”.
(Kamo-matsuri is another name of Aoi-matsuri.)
“Chokusai” is a name of festivals to which an imperial envoy attends.
“Kamo-matsuri (=Aoi Matsuri)” consists of three ceremonies; “Kyuchu no ghi”, “Rotoh no ghi” and “Shatoh no ghi”.
“Shatoh no ghi” is a ceremony taken place after the procession of about 500 people reaches Kamigamo shrine.
The procession starts from Imperial Palace, then proceeds to Shimogamo shrine and arrive at Kamigamo shrine.
They are in disguise an imperial envoy, Kebi-ishi, Kura-zukai, Yamashiro-tsukai, Saioh-dai with items like Gissha and Furyu-gasa and they look like the real ones from Heian period.
The envoy serves Shinto prayers “Norito” for the god and “Azuma-asobi no mai (dance)” is performed. And other ceremonies like “Souma no ghi” follow.
It was the first time for me to watch these ceremonies closely.
Although there was a time when the ceremonies were suspended due to social conditions during the long history of the festival, I was deeply impressed by the fact that the tradition has been inherited until now.
I would like to thank Kamigamo shrine for giving me such a precious opportunity.
Please have a look of photos of “Souma no ghi” posted on Instagram and facebook of LST.
Tomorrow is the day of Aoi-Matsuri Festival, one of the three largest festivals in Kyoto.
It is the most elegant festival full of quaint and classical charms.
Aoi-Matsuri Festival will be held in early summer Kyoto in beautiful fresh green.
It will be reminiscent of a picture scroll of Heian period.
The procession consists of over 500 people elegantly dressed in the costume of Heian nobles will leave Kyoto Gosho (=Imperial Palace) and head for Kamigamo shrine.
“Kyo-ryori Sakurai (ryoutei restaurant)” kindly delivered Saba-zushi(rod-shaped sushi topped with mackerel) to LST Kyoto and Tokyo.
In Kyoto, Saba-zushi is an essential food for the festivals.
We appreciate their hospitality as well as fantastic taste of Saba-zushi.
We would like to thank heartily for Kyo-ryori Sakurai’s unfailing warm hospitality.
A younger sister of our client who had got married with our service in Kyoto is going to have a Shinto style wedding ceremony at Nezu Shrine.
“We want LST to support our wedding.” she said.
It was our great pleasure to be given this opportunity and we really appreciate it.
Nezu Shrine is counted as one of the “Ten Shrines in Tokyo” and many of its buildings are designated as important cultural property.
When I visited the shrine this morning, I found the place was filled with pleasant and yet commanding air.
At this time of the year, the color contrast of shrine’s red and green of the leaves is really beautiful.
I’m sure the bride will look great there.

LST WEDDING N
ANNIVERSARY MEAL
Mr.and Mrs.O who had got married on May 1st 2011 came back to “Saami (ryoutei restaurant)” to have their 5th Wedding Anniversary meal.
They relaxed and enjoyed the meal with just the two of them as their two-years-old child stayed at home.
The couple told us that the wedding reception at Saami ryoutei restaurant is the greatest memory for both of them still now.
We are grateful that we could support their most important event in their life.
Thanks for visiting us, Mr. and Mrs. O.
We look forward to seeing you with your child next time!
