Recently I had an opportunity to have lunch with the people from “Sakurai (ryoutei restaurant)”.
We spent a good time under one of the cherry trees lined along Kamo River.
It has been a kind of regular event in the spring for us.
We talked about many things such as about the history of Sakurai, Kamigamo Shrine and all the guests we provided our service in the past.
And one of them said “I cannot find better job than my current one at Sakurai, because I love cooking and I’m appreciated for what I do.”
The wedding guests who attended the reception held at Sakurai always told us that their meals were fantastic.
Surely, the guests felt the sincere hospitality of Sakurai people.
Two of our staff are going to have their own wedding reception at Sakurai this year.
I’m now more looking forward to the events as I shared such a wonderful time with Sakurai people.
Thanks for everyone from Sakurai.

In Kyoto, the city is colored in pastel pink of cherry blossoms and we can feel the arrival of spring.
I supported a couple who got married at Kamigamo shrine and then had a wedding reception at “Kyo-ryori Sakurai”.
Both bride and groom are potters.
Before making toast, they presented a hand-made glass to each guest. They also gave the groom’s dishes to their guests as Hikidemono (= gifts for the guests invited to the wedding.)
All the guests were surprised and delight with the couple’s great hospitality.
I’m so happy and grateful that I could support such a heart-warming wedding reception.
We are looking forward to see the opening of the couple’s own pottery.
A MEETING WITH CLIENT COUPLE AGAIN AFTER TWO YEARS
We have started warm spring weather finally as the calendar changed from March to April.
I made a business trip to Kyoto to support my clients wedding the other day.
There were many tourists from all around Japan and also from overseas.
On March 30th, I met my client couple, S-sama and A-sama with their son Y-kun at Saami ryoutei restaurant. They celebrated their wedding anniversary there.
They visited Nijo Castle after lunch and sent me a photo taken in front of “Koun-tei” where they had their wedding ceremony.
It was a lovely, heart-warming picture which made me feel nostalgic.
I really appreciate such a precious opportunity; seeing my client couple again after two years from the wedding day.
Thanks for the wonderful moment.
I’m looking forward to seeing you again in Kyoto some day.
