• “Kagura” music and dance performed by a “Miko (maiden)” of Kamigamo shrine.

平安時代には紫式部も参拝し、恋の和歌を詠んだといわれる上賀茂神社。
社殿の至る所に刻まれる葵「双葉葵」は縁を結ぶと言い伝えられています。

上賀茂神社は私自身も結婚式を挙げさせていただいた思い出の神社。
懐かしい思いを胸に、短冊に願いを書いて結びました。

毎年、数多くの新しいご夫妻の門出を見守ってきた上賀茂さん。
良縁を結んでくれそうです。

Tomorrow is Valentine’s day.
As the numbers look good like “2014.2.14”, some couples are going to file their marriage paper tomorrow.

I visited the seasonal event “Marunouchi Valentine 2014 – Kyoto Kamigamo shrine” which is currently held at Marubiru in Tokyo.

It is said that a famous female author, Murasaki Shikibu visited Kamigamo Shrine and made a love poem back in the Heian period.
The shrine’s crest “Futaba Aoi” which you can find all over in the shrine is said to have a power to make a good match.

And Kamigamo shrine is a very special place for me as I had my wedding ceremony there, too.
With my memory in my heart, I wrote down my wish on a Tanzaku paper and tied it.

Kamigamo shrine has seen so many couples started their new lives together.
I’m sure that they will bring you a good “goen (=relation)”.

2月9日、料亭左阿彌さんにてLST和婚フェアを開催させていただきました。

10年間、毎年夏と冬にLSTならではの視点で会食や披露宴をご提案させていただくフェアで、毎回スタッフも楽しみにしています。

春をテーマに当日さながらの会場コーディネートをいたしました。

• 「聚楽殿」テーブル椅子席で100名様迄収容可能の人気のお部屋
• “Juraku-den”: The most popular room. Maximum 100 guests can be seated at the table.

• 「清風殿」60名様まで収容可能で景色が見渡せる開放的なお部屋
• “Seifu-den”: The room with the view from the widow. Maximum 60 guests can be seated.

• サプライズ演出「舞妓・芸妓」
  舞妓さんたちの登場に、会場が盛り上がりました
• A surprise program by “Maiko & Geiko”
  Loud cheers and applause were heard in the room.

• 和ならではの演出「鏡開き」
• “Kagami Biraki (=breaking the lid of Sake barrel and serve sake to everyone.)” the event which is very Japanese.

• 和ならではの演出「お琴の生演奏」
  お琴の雅の音色に、ご結婚式当日も是非取り入れたいとお声をいただきました
• Live performance of the Koto (Japanese harp)
  Some guests said that they would love to have this for their wedding, as the music was so beautiful.

“LST Japanese Style Wedding Fair” was held at Saami (ryoutei restaurant) on February 9th.

We have been presenting this fair every summer and winter for the last 10years.
At each fair, we proposed unique wedding reception and banquet, and all the LST staff were looking forward to attending it as well.

This time, we decorated the hall with “spring” as a theme and made it look like a real wedding reception.

We received so many comments from the guests who attended the event such as,

“I believe the guests will enjoy our Japanese style wedding reception.”

“It helped me to visualize our wedding. I’m now really looking forward to have my own ceremony.”

“The dishes and decorations were so beautiful and the meals were very delicious.”

Thanks for answering our questionnaire.
Based on the opinions and information collected, we are going to propose the best wedding plan to each couple.

先日、Restaurantむとうさんにて人前式とご披露宴のサポートをさせていただきました。

ご友人様とご家族様に見守られながらの挙式・ご披露宴では

新婦様手作りのリングピローを持ったリングガールの登場など、
人前式ならではの厳かさとアットホーム感が溢れる挙式となりました。

またご披露宴ではシェフ渾身のウエディングケーキの登場。
真っ白なバラとケーキ裏面には新婦様がお好きなピッグがこっそりと隠れており、とても華やかなケーキにより一層会場が賑わっておりました。

We supported the wedding ceremony and the reception held at Restaurant Muto.

At the ceremony, they got married as their friends and families were watching.
At the reception, the bride’s father escorted the bride and handed off the baton to the gloom.

A little girl brought the wedding rings for the couple as a ring bearer, holding the ring pillow which was hand made by the bride.
It was a really nice wedding ceremony which was very warm and friendly and yet in a solemn atmosphere.

At the wedding reception, the beautiful wedding cake was prepared by the chef.
It was decorated with white roses and a pig (a bride’s favorite animal) was hidden in the back.
The gorgeous cake attracted all the guests’ attention and everyone admired it.

We had lots of snow in Tokyo today and it piled up more than 20cm.
Some trains were delayed due to the snow.

I would like to thank the couples who came over to our office in this weather today.

We offered green tea from “Ippodo” for our guests today, hoping the tea could help them feel at ease.

It won’t stop snowing till early morning on 9th.
The whole world is in white and so visionary.

The couples who visited our office today are planning to have their wedding ceremonies in this spring and autumn.
While watching the snow falling quietly and steadily, I’m longing for their weddings.

• LSTが提案する上賀茂神社さんオリジナルの衣装
  光沢のある緞子地に、神殿や鳥居、葵祭の牛車、背景には境内の式の彩りを、一針ごとに想いをこめて丁寧に仕上げられた総刺繍のお着物です。
• LST original kimono exclusively designed for the wedding at “Kamigamo Shrine”
  Shiny “dons (Japanese damask)” covered with embroideries all over showing a picture of the shrine and the torii (gate), the traditional cow carriage of Aoi Matsuri and seasonally scenes of the shrine garden. The embroideries were finished carefully, stitch by stitch by hand.

• LST「お誂えサロン」で試着できる色打掛
  こちらも金糸が入り、華やかながらも上品なお着物。
• “Irouchikake (kimono with colors & patterns)” which you can try at LST “Austria Salon”. This is also a very gorgeous kimono with lots of gold yarns used, yet it also looks chic and sophisticated.

Today is “Setsubun”.
Sakurai (ryoutei restaurant) kindly delivered us “ehoumaki (sushi roll which is eaten on Setsubun)”

We enjoyed tasty “ehoumaki” with all the staff, facing to the “ehou” altogether.
“Ehou” means the lucky direction of this year(=east-northeast), and it is said that the god of “Fuku(=luck)” and “Toku(=virtue)” lives in the “ehou” direction.

Thanks for the delicious “ehoumaki”, Sakurai.
I heard that “Setsubun” means the last day of the year in the old calendar.
We will turn a new leaf and try further effort to create precious moment for our clients from tomorrow.

We held a trial fitting event of Japanese kimonos and wigs today at LST Tokyo.

“To wear kimono at the wedding ceremony sounds great, but I’m not sure about the wig.”
“I have a bitter experience with a wig when I tried ‘Maiko’ style.”
“Does kimono look OK with my short hair?”

Many brides worry about wearing the kimono and the wig which they are not used to wear. And to address their concerns, we are holding this event every month.

Some brides came to the event with the grooms,
some were with their mothers,
and some were by themselves.

All the brides looked a bit nervous when they had arrived, but they had smiles on their faces after the event.
They must have been convinced that they would make beautiful brides.

We would like many brides to wear the traditional kimonos at their wedding.

We provided our service at the wedding performed at Kamigamo Shrine early this morning and the wedding reception at Sakurai (ryoutei restaurant) after that.

Before the wedding ceremony, the bride expressed her gratitude to her parents in the dressing room.
I heard her words behind the door. Each word was filled with her sincere thankfulness.

It’s one of the most precious moments in your life when you tell “thank you” to your parents before the wedding.
I was so touched and found myself close to tears.

The flower arrangement with “ume” (Japanese plum) was very beautiful and matched the image of the couple.

お母様の思いから本日の撮影にいたりました。

Today, we did the photo shooting of Hisashi-sama and Kana-sama at ryoutei Saami.

They are going to get married in February.
They had their photos taken in Kimono today, as they will not wear them on the day of the wedding.

Both of them were very tall and looked like models!

“I would like to have my daughter’s wedding photos in kimono.”
Today’s photo shooting was taken place following a wish of the bride’s mother.

The parents’ eyes were dimmed with tears while they were watching their son and daughter posing for the photo in kimono.
We were also moved by such a scene.

We are thankful for the wonderful time and very good “goen (=opportunity to meet)” today. I hope they will enjoy the day of their wedding as well.

I wish them and their families happiness for many years to come.
