We held a wedding fair at Saami Ryoutei Restaurant on August 8th.

At the “Mini Kagami-Biraki*” event held at the fair, the guest got exited with the giveaways of photography and portrait vouchers for the wedding. (*A ceremony to open the lid of sake-barrel for good fortune.)

With the theme of “knot(=tying)” always in our mind, we will be there for the couple and support them until their wedding day.

CHERRY BLOSSOM SEASON / PRE-PHOTOSHOOT IN KYOTO, TANAN・LST WEDDING

It is the season of beautiful cherry blossoms.
One lovely couple had their pre-wedding photos taken at “Bishamon-do Temple“, where the groom is related to.

During the photo session, the groom taught us about the history of the shrine, and we all enjoyed.

Thanks to the couple for a wonderful time.

We hope they will visit us again at the salon.

THE WEDDING AT CHION-IN, JODO-SHU HEAD TEMPLE

We provided our service for a couple who got married at Chion-in last Autumn.

The temple is the head temple of Jodo-shu and they have just finished the restoration work at Miei-do, a hall where a sacred image of the founder HONEN is kept.
We were overwhelmed by the majestic and beautiful appearance of the building.
We are sure that the wedding ceremony at Amida Hall was a precious moment for their families.

We are honored and thankful that we could support the wedding of a great couple; the groom serves as a monk at Chion-in and the bride who has such a lovely smile.

PRE-SHOOTING IN KYOTO, POPULAR PHOTO SPOTS #1

Today, we would like to introduce you to some of the unique photo shooting spots in Kyoto which are full of Kyoto-style atmosphere.

“YASAKA NO TOH (Pagoda of Yasaka)”
The 46-meter five-story pagoda is an indispensable symbol of the Higashiyama landscape.
As it is a very popular tourist attraction, photography is only available in the morning.
How about taking photos with the five-story pagoda in the background?

“YASAKA KOSHIN-DO”
Yasaka Koshindo is popular on SNS as well.
The colorful “kukuri-zaru (monkeys)” that look like “Otedama (traditional Japanese juggling toy)” are cute and make a great photo spot.
It is said that if you give up your greed, your wish will come true, and there are the wishes written on each one of them.

JAPANESE ATTRACTION #2 “KAGAMI-BIRAKI” FOR KYOTO WEDDING

Hello.
Finally, the season of snow has arrived in Kyoto.

Well, I would like to introduce you to “Kagami-Biraki”, a classic Japanese performance popular at the wedding reception.
“Kagami-Biraki” is a ceremony to open a sake barrel with a wooden mallet.

The “Kagami(= the word means mirror)” refers to the lid of the sake barrel.
The round shape of the barrel means “peace and harmony” and the word “Biraki (hiraku)” has a meaning of “developing the future”.
So, the couple opening the sake barrel indicate that they are developing their future together.
When the lid is opened by the couple, everyone shouts “Yoisho!, Yoisho!, Yoisho!”
It is said that the louder the shout, the more luck will come.
So let’s open up the future of the bride and groom with all the guests united.

Also “Kagami-Biraki” makes an exciting attraction for the guests at the beginning of the wedding reception.
The guests can toast and enjoy the sake which has a subtle aroma of the barrel during the meal.

It’s a unique Japanese way to celebrate the wedding.
