- 7月にお会いした、生後1か月の「陽咲」（ひなた）ちゃん。
- “Hinata-chan” was just one month old when we first met her in July.
- 本日、４か月の陽咲ちゃん。
- “Hinata-chan” is four months old now.
- 愛情をいっぱい受けて、健やかにお育ち中です。
- She is now growing up supported by lots of love from her parents.
陽向ちゃんの笑顔が、わたしたちLSTスタッフを癒してくれました。
また、会える日を楽しみにしています！

Hinata-chan’s smile afforded us great comfort.

上賀茂神社さんで「賀茂観月祭」の祭典に参列させていただきました。
月を賞でる風習は、古く中国漢代にさかのぼり、
日本では宇多天皇の御代（887~897)に
盛大に月見の宴が行われた記録が残っており、
江戸時代以降は民間でも団子・すすき・枝豆・酒などを
お供えして観月する習慣ができました。
上賀茂神社さんでも多くの歌が残されています。
まつほどに こころあさくも 思ふかな
ひかりさやけき 夜な夜なのつき

夕方17時半〜祭典が始まりました。 秋の豊作を祈ります。

The ceremony started at 17:30. We prayed for the good harvest in Autumn.
- 京舞や音楽などが奉納されました。
- Kyoumai (=traditional Kyoto Dancing) and music were offered.
大勢の方に見守られながら、祭典がすすむ中で、
馬場殿の真上に、輝く満月を見ることができました。
貴族は、満月を直視することなく、湖に反射する光を楽しんだとか。
いずれにしよ、現代のように生活にライトがない時代、
どれほど「月の光」が人々に安らぎを与え、
人々は祈りや願いを込めたのだろう、、と想像します。

KAMO-KANGETSU-SAI (=MOON VIEWING CEREMONY) AT KAMIGAMO SHRINE
I was invited to “Kangetsu-sai” at Kamigamo shrine.
The custom of appreciating the moon extends back to the era of Han Dynasty in China,
and there is a record of having a big moon viewing party during the reign of Emperor Uda (887-897) in Japan.
After the Edo period, common people also started appreciating the moon with offerings such as dango (=sweet rice dumpling), edamame, Japanese pampas grass and sake.
Many poems from those old days are found at Kamigamo shrine.
Matsu hodo ni kokoro asakumo omou kana.
Hikari saya keki yonayona no tsuki.
While many people were watching, the ceremony proceeded and we could view the brightly shinning full moon over the roof of Baba-den.
It is said that in the old days, aristocrats did not watch the moon directly but enjoyed its reflection on the lake.
After all, it was a time without electric lights.
People must have felt at ease under the bright moonlight and I suppose that is why they prayed or made a wish upon the moon.
I appreciated the glorious time at Kamigamo shrine.

ジーンとしたことを思い出しました。
昨年お会いした時には、まだお話しできなかった さあちゃんも
少しお話しができるようになり、電話越しのそのお声にも癒されました。

A GIFT OF MANGO
One client couple who had got married with our service three years ago sent us Mangos.
The mangos raised by the couple with great care tasted so good.
“My son has been out to the field everyday talking about only Mangos…
So I thought he would live his life alone like that.
I’m so happy that he met M-san and we can see them getting married today.”
I recalled that I was moved by this story told by the groom’s father on their wedding day three years ago.
Their daughter, Saa-chan can now talk a little bit and her voice over the phone made me feel better.
She didn’t start talking yet when I met her last year.
I cannot wait to see her again imagining how cute she is grown now.
We feel very happy that they keep in touch with us after the wedding.

I visited “Yoshida-Sanso” the other day to support the photography there.
It has been well known as one of the buildings associated with Imperial family.
Built with all “Hinoki (=cypress)” in traditional Japanese architectural style, yet it has an elegant atmosphere created by the fusion of Japanese and Western taste such as the stained glass displayed on the wall.
From the banquet hall, you can view the garden full of green and admire pretty flowers of the season.
At Yoshida-Sanso, you can have a nice, relaxing time with your precious guests.
We recommend this place for the couples who wants to have their wedding at the authentic traditional Japanese house.

On the second day of OATSURAE-TEN, also many Parisians visited our exhibition and experienced Japanese culture.
We are so happy because far more people than we expected are visiting the exhibition.

- 以前、ご旅行で東京にお越し下さいましたのをきっかけに京都の文化に興味を持たれ通りがかりに立ち寄って下さいました。
まずはお抹茶と鶴と亀の紅白の干菓子にておもてなし。

So she stopped by our exhibition when she was passing by.
Firstly, we welcomed her with “Matcha (=green tea)” and “Crane and Turtle shaped kouhaku-higashi (Japanese traditional sweets)”.

- After that, she tried our wedding costume.
たくさんのお客様が展示会の前で足をとめて下さり
日本の着物や文化・雰囲気にご興味をお持ち下さいました。
パリで展示会をさせて頂くことで初日から私たち自身も日本の結婚式の魅力をまた違う目線で感じることができました。

WEDDING AT KIBUNE SHRINE
We supported a couple to get married at Kibune Shrine on 28th July.
The clean fresh air and cool sounds from the stream made me feel as if I was in some mountain resort.
It is worth having wedding ceremony at Kibune Shrine even though it is rather distant from Kyoto station and you need to drive for a while.
The weather is much cooler, usually 10℃ lower than in the center of Kyoto city.
Kibune Shrine has been venerating god of water and god of “good match” from the ancient time.
Surrounded by abundance of nature, you can having your wedding ceremony with feeling of the season.

21日、LST BOTANにて「箏と尺八を楽しむ会」を開催させていただきました。
平日の夜にも関わらず、たくさんのお客様がお越しくださいました。
演奏いただいたのは、古典曲「六段の調」から、現代曲「きびたきの森」、
葉加瀬太郎さんの「エトピリカ」など。
町屋の空間に、箏と尺八の音が響き渡っていました。

KOTO AND SHAKUHACHI CONCERT
The arrival of Autumn can be felt in the evening recently.
We held a concert of “Koto and Shakuhachi (Japanese harp and flute)” at LST BOTAN on 21st August.
We got many guests in spite of week day night.
The music played were classical “Rokudan-no-shirabe”, contemporary “Kibitaki-no-mori” and “Etupirka” by Taro HAKASE.
The sound of koto and shakuhachi was reverberating through the “Machiya (townhouses)”, a traditional wooden house of Kyoto.
We heard some good comments from the guests;
“This was the first time to listen koto and shakuhachi sounds. It was beautiful.”
“I enjoyed sitting in the lovely Machiya space.”
“I felt so comfortable surrounded by the wooden furniture.”
There will be an exhibition of wonderful textile by “Kanon” in September.
We would like to keep providing goods, space and time to make your everyday life better.
